The Latest in the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella

                                                           Mini Shopaholic: A Novel

If you have never ventured onto Sophie Kinsella's Confessions of a Shopaholic series, then readers you are seriously missing out on a fun shopping light-hearted chick lit. Until about a year ago, I didn't realise that the author of the Shopaholic series wasn't actually named Sophie Kinsella but in fact that it was a pseudonym - her real name in which she has written some more books under more drama than her usual light-hearted books - Madeline Wickham.

Review : Mini-Shopaholic - Sophie Kinsella - September 2010

Author Sophie Kinsella brings us the next installment in the Confessions of a Shopaholic with Book #6 : Mini-Shopaholic. Starting two years later from where Book #5 - Shopaholic and Baby finished , Becky and her husband Luke Brandon have an adorable but spoiled two-year old called Minnie.  Unfortunately for them , it rings true when they say addictions run in the family as Minnie is a mini-shopaholic from wanting toys galore to clothes to handbags and Starbucks muffins . When the world hits a recession and the bank's start losing their money, we see the characters in the book each trying to tighten their belts and stretch their money out a bit more. After making a deal with her husband, Becky is forced to wear everything in her closet at least three times before buying anymore clothes - the problem is it's January and by the time she is allowed to buy more clothes October would be looming. Can Becky hold out her shopping addiction till October , or will their be something - a piece of clothing, an accessory calling her name ? . It's Luke's birthday and Becky plans on throwing him the biggest and most wonderful birthday bash ever - Enter Jess , Becky's half-sister - will Jess's introduction of bartering and shopping at the pound shop ( like our NZ $2 Shop) save Becky money or will she end up spending more being overwhelmed with all the deals as a pound per item doesn't seem like much but when Becky gets going it can end up alot. When Becky decides to go back to work - taking Suzi's advice she decides to hire a nanny unfortunately the nannies don't take to well to Minnie's behaviours and what will happen when the big gun Nanny Sue ( a bit like Jo "Supernanny) enters into the picture and not only that are Luke and Becky in for a big financial dip as their two year old has discovered online shopping ?.
Find out all this and more with another hilarious look into the world of Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood in Mini-Shopaholic - Confessions of a Shopaholic Series Book #6.
