Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully

Review: Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully- Audrey Penn- August 2009
Coming up in the Chester Raccoon Series by Audrey Penn which due to Netgalley http://www.netgalley.co.nz/ , I have been able to enjoy , is Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully. I find that each of Audrey's books feature a moral and a lesson to learn , be it sharing , making friends and in today's book, it touches on an issue which is dear to my heart - Bullying. Chester and his brother Ronny are too scared to go to school, because their is a mean bully who is nasty to everyone - Badger. Chester Raccoon's mother talks to Chester about Bullying and why people become bullies and how to deal with them, we read as Chester takes his mum's advice and soon we see a complete turnaround in Badger as he realises that it is not very nice being a bully and that you can get more life satisfaction from being a friend. Jam-packed into a 32pg book , Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully is the perfect book to read and discuss with ages 5-8yrs.
