Review: Taken With You - Book #8 The Kowalskis Series - Shannon Stacey - March 2014

One of my favourite series by Shannon Stacey is The Kowalskis with every book following a family member. When I read that there was to be a new one, I wondered how it would play out as by my calculations all of the Kowalski family have been married off in the previous seven books. In Taken With You, it features Tori - one of the twins from the Kowalski family and her best friend Hailey whom the book is about. Hailey is a librarian who is tired of being single and has not met her "one" yet, this is the fault though that all the Kowalski men are taken and apparently they are the only "good guys" out there. The story starts when Hailey and Tori are out hiking - bad idea, when they get lost from their tour group. They are eventually rescued by Matt Barnett - the game warden. To Hailey if only he tided up a bit, he could be quite handsome but the rugged forest look doesn't do it for her. What happens though, when they meet a few weeks later and he ends up her next door neighbour ? Will this force the issue that they were meant to be together as no matter how much Hailey tries to avoid Matt, the pair seem drawn together. That and the fact that in their small hometown of Whitford, there's not many places to play hide and seek.
Has Hailey finally met her "One" ? Is it true that opposites really do match ?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
