Review: Golden - Jessi Kirby - May 2013

It's Senior Year and Parker Frost is getting ready for Graduation , she knows what should be done as she has had it drilled into her ever since she was a young girl, but when she is given the job from her English teacher to post out the Senior Year Notebook Journals which the students ten years ago completed -little does she know that it will change her life and set her on a journey of discovery and solving one of the town's tragedies that occurred ten years ago. Ten years ago, the day of senior year graduation two students disappeared forever , their bodies were never found and they were believed to have been buried under the lake . The two students were the "Golden" couple - Shane Cruz and Julianna Farnetti. Since Parker can't find a sender address for Julianna's as her family moved away, she feels compelled to read it and doing so will discover a whole secret life that nobody knew - one that if it was ever revealed - the whole town's history of the two teens would be shattered. The journal sends Parker on a road trip into discovering the truth of what really happened that night in hopes that somewhere out there Julianna did get her happily ever after. What will happen though when Parker stumbles across the biggest secret ever ? Can she keep her mouth close and let others believe what they have always believed or will someone else discover what she is up to and leak the truth that has been hiding for the past ten years ?
Find out in "Golden" by Jessi Kirby , a book that if you love mysteries and teen fiction is worth the read as it will keep you on your toes.
