VBT# Just You - Jane Lark

Review: Just You - Book #2 Starting Over - Jane Lark - May 2014

Remember Jason from Book #1 I Found You and his now wife Rachel. Well Book #2 follows on from that story and features Jason's workmate and close friend Justin. Just You is a story of Cinderella in the modern age with a twist as Justin happens to be a Black kid from the Bronx and is the father of his household , trying to keep his three brothers from the gang life that they are exposed to every single day while his mum works to provide for the family. Portia who works with Justin at the Sports Magazine , is from the upper class and is wealthy, white and has a british accent. She is as different to him as day and night. The thing is though , that once they get to know each other they can't help but start to fall in love but it seems their different cultures and upbringings keep on getting in the way of their happiness. Can Portia prove to Justin that she isn't just another run of your mill rich white girl and that she isn't taking him on as a charity case but that she really loves him ? Can Justin really marry someone whose seemingly in a class above him ? When it all boils down to it , what really makes true love and happiness is "Just You".
If you are wanting a fast-paced contemporary New Adult romance with a bit of an egdy side as this novel does focus on life in gangs and gang-related incidents, then Just You by Jane Lark is the book for you and if you haven't read the first one,  then what are you waiting for - check out "I Found You" by Jane Lark as both books are worth the read.
