VBT# Where You Are - Alla Kar

Review: Where You Are - Book #1 Together Series - Alla Kar - July 2014

Did you ever watch that film "John Tucker Must Die" ? I went to the movies to watch it with my Dad on one of our father-daughter dates and I have to say we both enjoyed the movie. In the film, there is this hot jerk of a guy known as John Tucker who basically sleeps around with lots of different women , has plenty of one-night stands and is your average womanizer , playboy. In the movie,  a new girl starts school and finds herself faced with a challenge by three of the women that John Tucker has hurt by his actions. To date him, dump him and get revenge by giving him a taste of his own medicine. The thing is though, that this new girl is different, she is unlike anyone he has ever dated and soon he actually becomes serious about her and by the time she wants to pull out as she realises she will actually hurt him - she is too far in. That is what this book "Where You Are" reminded me of , but of course to make it different there is a few twists in this book. The novel starts off with Laney - who is at college and has been enlisted by Bethany to help her win back Aiden Summers - the school's version of John Tucker. The thing is he doesn't even remember Bethany but he finds himself drawn to Laney and soon a plan starts to unfold and give Aiden a taste of his own medicine. The plan wouldn't be too difficult to execute but life has a way of playing games with us and putting obstacles in our way and Laney's is the guy that broke her into tiny pieces - Lachlan who is back in town for his best friend Lucas's wedding .
Can Laney decide which guy is best for her and will she be able to play out the revenge game as well as save the relationship with the one she really wants or will it backfire and Laney end up the one on the losing end ?
The only disagreement I have with this novel and it's possibly because the author was American, she did not realise but Palova is in fact spelt Pavlova and is in fact a New Zealand dessert and not Australian as you see the Aussies are always trying to claim New Zealand icons for themselves and we are pretty protective of what is rightfully ours.
