Review: Wish - Nadia Scrieva - Book #1 Upon A Star - December 2012

Over the last few years, Kayla has been becoming more attached to the human way of doing things, that her job as a guardian star has started to fail and now after her last job goes haywire, she finds herself looming on the edge of being forced to retire which for her means going into a deep sleep for eternity as her real body is nothing but a star. You know those wish upon a star moments, that's when people like Kayla are sent to save you and grant your wishes. Having one more chance to save someone and her job, Kayla is put in the path of Kieran who has just been dumped by his girlfriend on Christmas Eve and now he believes he has nothing left to live for and that the whole world would be better off without him. Coming across Kieran on the bridge, Kayla must show Kieran what life would have been like if he had never been born and what his future holds if he does not jump off the bridge tonight.  Wish was a quick read and reminded me of a supernatural version of A Christmas Carol , where Kayla is the angel sent to show Kieran the Ghosts of Christmas. In saving Kieran, will this job save Kayla or will something more powerful intervene and send Kayla on a different life path for the future , a future she never imagined she could have ?
