Review: Rival Love - Natalie Decker - August 2014

Skylar Fletcher had everything planned for her future as a sports star and top swimmer, she was going to head to Duke University on a full-ride swimming scholarship. That was until her mother decided to start dating someone new and to make matters worse move in with them. Have you seen the movie Bring It On 5 : Fight to Finish ? That's what Rival Love reminded me of , when Skylar moves from her side of town and school to the Rival school. Here School Rivalry is a massive deal and if Skylar's not careful , she might not make it through the first day of school alive.  Caleb Morgan is the school's football star and also lives with his Uncle Ben - a teacher at his school. Caleb's Uncle Ben is also the one dating Skylar's mother, so of course the two of them have to live together. What will Caleb's friends and teammates think when they discover he lives under the same roof as their rival even though Skylar has changed schools, she is still seen as the enemy ? Can Caleb help Skylar become one of them or is the damage already set ? What happens though when Rivalry becomes feelings of love ? Can Caleb and Skylar ever be together or is that asking for a death wish ? What will happen though to Skylar's dreams and future plans when a school prank goes terribly wrong and all the blame is pinned on Skylar ? 
If you don't mind cliffhangers, then Rival Love was a good read but if you hate cliffies , then the ending of this book may annoy you as I felt a little letdown at the end and wanted more closure.  I am now looking forward to seeing what Natalie Decker brings out in the future and to see if she will carry on with a sequel to Rival Love.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
