Review: The Wager - Rachel Van Dyken

Review: The Wager - Book #2 The Bet Series - Rachel Van Dyken - July 2014

For those who regulary read The Phantom Paragrapher reviews, then it shouldn't come to you as a shock that I ended up once again reading Book #2 first in a series . This is something I tend to do often and trust me it is not deliberate. Lucky for me though, more often than not you can read the books out of order and you can gather the gist of the backstory. In Book #2 The Wager we meet Jake and Char , these two went to Junior High and High school together and in Eighth Grade Char slept with Jake as he was her school crush and the hottest guy on site. The two went their separate ways and then later on meet up again in a bar and this ended up ruining and putting a damper on Char's career as it through her off balance. Now the pair have been forced back together to be in the same place at once as Jake's brother Travis and Char's best friend Kacey are getting married. Jake is to be the Best Man and Char the Maid of Honor. These two really should be together, but will it take a bet and some hard work in going the extra miles to prove it to the reluctant pair. So begins the Wager between Kacey/Travis and Grandma - Grandma is Travis and Jake's grandmother and reading this book I was like OMG I want a Grandma like that , she was so much fun and in a way reminded me of Grandma Mazur from the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich.  Kacey and Travis want to set Char up with Senator Jace but Grandma is adamant that Char's perfect match is her grandson Jake. Let the Wager Wars  Begin.
