Review: New York Dolls - Catherine L. Hensley - 2014

If you are a journalist, then one of your dreams like many others is to move to the Big Apple and work on a magazine. As someone who has done some freelance journalism , I know that has been my dream . Denton Hodges has managed to land herself a writing job working as an Intern for Glitter Magazine and has been given her first writing assignment, though of course it comes with a few strings attached. The first is that she's not actually going there as herself but as Anna - the Beauty and Fashion Editor. Denton can do it , but what happens when she is in the loo and notices pop star celebrity Amber Donovan in a bad shape. Denton being the nice girl she is , offers her help and just like that she becomes Amber's best friend Dee-Dee and is introduced to the world of celebrities including the hunky Hollywood Actor Chris West. As Denton gets to know Chris, there are sparks that continue to fly but what will happen when he discovers that she is another tabloid magazine reporter and that is one of his pet-hates. Soon Denton is caught in a turmoil and sticky situation as her boss and Editor of Glitter Alice discovers she has been rubbing shoulders and wants Denton to get the inside scoop on Amber and Chris.  Can she do both or will she learn that she has to sacrifice one thing in order to keep the other ? Which is more important to Denton when it comes to the crunch - her career in the magazine world or love ? 
I really enjoyed New York Dolls as it gives the reader the other side of working in the magazine world, rather than just the glam side of attending events and meeting celebs.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
