VBT# How (Not) to Fall in Love - Lisa Brown Roberts

Review: How (Not) to Fall in Love - Lisa Brown Roberts - February 2015

Imagine growing up and having a life where everything you ever wanted, you got. A life where you never had to worry about how much money you would have at the end of the week , or how much you could spend on food in order to pay bills but survive at the same time. That was until Darcy's family went a bit crazy and they lost everything . Her Dad, founder of TRIumphant - a self-help company disappeared one day and never returned home , over the next couple of months Darcy and her mum would discover what it would be like to lose everything and have to start fresh and new. At least, they do have someone they can rely on Charlie - her Dad's younger brother whom gets in contact with Darcy. He introduces her to his friends Liz - who owns the coffee shop where Darcy gets a job and Lucas - his employer whose just a bit older than Darcy but of course she has the hots for him. Things aren't going to be in her favour though as Lucas has a girlfriend Heather who is like "model material". With everything going on in her life, including trying to track down her dad with the odd postcard she recieves and keeping her house afloat - Darcy hasn't got anytime to fall in love. In conclusion, though I do believe this title is a bit decieiving as the story isn't exactly focused on teen romances but in Darcy's search for her father and trying to keep her family from falling apart.  If you are wanting a teen novel with realistic aspects , then check out "How (Not) to fall in Love by Lisa Brown Roberts.
