The Ice Twins

Review: The Ice Twins - S.K Tremayne - January 2015

Are you a fan of Brit Lit ? Love reading Sophie Hannah's Psychological thrillers ? If you answered YES, to both those questions - then The Ice Twins is the book for you. What drew me to this book was the cover as I love reading stories about Twins and then I noticed it was a suspense story and it drew me in closer. I picked it up and started reading it and once I started, I was hooked and could not put it down. This book is an amazing and captivating read which I do have to admit will send your head whirring around as it is a lot to take in as a story overall. The book starts after the death of Angus's grandmother and the need for a fresh start after one of their twins Lydia died in a tragic accident. Once they move though, things start to get  a bit eerie as Kirstie - the surviving twin claims that she is in fact Lydia and the twin that died was Kirstie. Did the parents get their twins mixed up ? Over the course of the majority of the book we read as Angus and Sarah test their daughter with Lydia's things to see how she reacts and whether what she is saying is true. As the story goes along though, Lydia/Kirstie starts acting out and strange things are occuring and stories are spread. The Ice Twins is definitely one of those psychological thrillers that is hard to explain and one that you have to read it , to fully understand and even then you might still have questions. In terms of psychological thrillers, The Ice Twins by S.K Tremayne is one of the more complex stories but if you have grown up reading Sophie Hannah, then you will fit in right at home with S.K Tremanye's writings.
So, readers what are you waiting for - prepare to be blown away and messed around with The Ice Twins.
