Review: Heat (Part #2) - Elements of Chemistry Series - Penny Reid - April 2015

One of my favourite authors that I have recently discovered in the last couple of months is Penny Reid, she is the perfect combination of New Adult, Romance and what I love to call Geek Chic Lit. In Heat, which is Part #2 of her Elements of Chemistry series, we pick up after where Part #1 finished with a party and Martin kissing another girl just after he had left Kaitlyn off to fend for herself. So Kaitlyn does what someone like me would probably do in a party scene where I feel uncomfortable is grab a book and head to a quiet place and read. Martin finds her and they have a passionate moment and the book starts again with the pair of them. Due to Kaitlyn always analyzing things, they have this on/off again relationship that I often found frustrating as I know Martin doesn't have the best of reputation but can't you see Kaitlyn that he does love you and wants to change. The pair finally start to move forward and then it looks like fate does not want the pair together as Martin's stepmother Patrice arrives in the picture and then his Dad who is an A-hole , he was such a mean overbearing man who I could tell was a sleaze. The two can stand tall against Martin's dad but what will happen when Kaitlyn's mum aka Senator Parker comes in the picture and breaks the news that Kaitlyn has to dump Martin as it's looking bad for her political campaign and presidency run. Kaitlyn understands logic and her mother's reasoning , but will she be able to live with the consequences of her actions or will her heart overpower her decision just this once ?

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
